What Each Reiki Class Teaches Me: Reflections from a Gendai Reiki Level 1 Class

Just for Today, I Am Grateful
If you’ve ever wondered what a Gendai Reiki Level 1 class feels like, this is a quiet reflection from my experience teaching Reiki and walking the path alongside my students.
There is something quietly sacred about teaching Reiki that never feels the same twice.
I recently held a Gendai Reiki Level 1 class, and once again, I was reminded that no two circles are ever alike. The energy shifts. The stories change. The people who arrive carry different questions, different wounds, and different levels of readiness. And yet, each time, it feels exactly as it should be.
What surprised me most was not just the experience of guiding others, but witnessing myself within it. The way I hold space now feels softer and steadier. It is less about proving, and more about trusting. I can see the growth in my own practice, in how I listen and how I allow. And still, I am deeply aware that this path is endless. There is always more to unlearn, more to surrender, more to remember.
I often find myself in quiet awe of the students who come. Not by chance, I believe, but by resonance. They are seekers, not of quick fixes, but of truth. The kind of people who are willing to meet themselves honestly. To take responsibility for their healing. To walk their path with intention.
Their trust is not something I take lightly. To be chosen as a guide, even for a moment in someone’s journey, is a privilege I hold with reverence.
And perhaps that is what lingers most after each class.
A simple, grounding truth.
Just for today, I am grateful.
