You’re Not Lazy. You’re Leaking Energy.

Let’s talk about something that almost no one at work talks about.
ENERGY LEAKS.
Not deadlines.Not drama.Not workload.
The invisible ways we lose energy every single day—even when the to-do list doesn’t seem that bad. Even when we love what we do.
If you’ve ever ended the day completely drained, but can't quite point to why...this is for you.
So what is an energy leak?
Picture your energy like water in a bowl.Still. Full. Calm.
Now, imagine poking a few small holes in that bowl. What happens?
Drip. Drip. Drip. Eventually, it’s empty.
That’s what happens in our workday, too.
Real-life energy leaks often look like this:
Saying “yes” when everything inside says “no.”
Back-to-back meetings with no time to breathe.
Carrying emotional stress that doesn’t even belong to you.
People-pleasing to the point of resentment.
Not having clear boundaries.
Multitasking while feeling completely scattered.
These things may seem minor, but they chip away at our well-being—slowly and quietly.
How to close those energy leaks?
This is where energy awareness meets everyday work life.
1. Pause and Scan the Body.
At least once a day, stop and ask:
Where is there tension? What feels heavy right now?
The body always gives clues.Tune in.
2. Ground Through Breath.
Try this simple tool:
3 deep breaths
In through the nose.
Out through the mouth.
Make the exhale longer than the inhale.
This calms the nervous system and resets the energy field.
3. Visualize a Boundary.
It can be as simple as imagining a soft bubble of light around the body. This is your energetic filter. You don’t have to absorb everything around you.
This isn’t about walls—it’s about protection with presence.
4. Practice Energetic Honesty.
Leaks happen when there’s a gap between what’s true and what’s said.
Try:
“I need a moment before we move forward.”“Can we revisit this when I’m clearer?”“I’m at capacity—can we delegate or shift timelines?”
Clear communication helps seal the cracks.
5. Create Space for Integration.
Not everything needs to be packed back-to-back. Even 5 minutes between tasks can help energy settle.
Use the time to breathe, stretch, or simply be.
6. Embrace Energy Healing Practices.
Reiki, meditation, breathwork—these aren’t luxury extras. They’re energetic maintenance. Just like brushing your teeth, but for your energy field.
Whether done alone or with support, they help call the energy back and restore balance.
A gentle reminder:
Work doesn’t have to mean running on empty. Excellence doesn’t require exhaustion. Saying no can be a form of self-respect. Pausing can be a path back to power.
Energy is sacred. Honor it. Protect it. And let it guide the way toward a more sustainable, nourishing work life.
