Reiki’s Relevance Today

This video struck a chord with me because it beautifully captured how Reiki has grown—what began as a personal practice is now embraced by millions around the world, even finding its place in hospitals and medical facilities.
For me, Reiki remains, at its core, a deeply personal practice. It has carried me through struggles and continues to be my anchor in daily life. That’s what I love most about Reiki, it’s both profoundly personal and endlessly adaptable. It can flow into anything: self-care, family life, professional healing work, or even complementing medical treatments.
Here in the Philippines, I dream of seeing Reiki integrated into hospice and hospital care where it can support not only patients but also caregivers and medical staff. Reiki has so much to offer in creating spaces of compassion and comfort, especially in moments when they are needed most.
As practitioners, we are part of a global community, but we also have the opportunity to shape how Reiki takes root locally. My hope is that our medical institutions will one day see Reiki not as an alternative, but as a complementary partner in holistic care.
💫 Reiki has always been about connection within ourselves, with others, and with the greater web of healing.
👉 I’d love to hear your thoughts: How do you see Reiki finding its place in healthcare here in the Philippines (or in your part of the world)?
